Please note that you cannot save your progress on the applicant information form below. We suggest you review the form in advance and collect all the needed information before you begin.Â
Here are the steps to complete your McNair application:Â
1. Review program eligibility requirements. Answer a few questions to quickly determine your eligibility.Â
To be eligible, a student must be:Â
- A U.S. citizen or permanent resident, AND
- Enrolled at CSS, LSC, FDLTCC, or UMD with the intention of completing a Bachelor's (4-year) degree, AND
- An income-eligible first-generation student OR a student from an underrepresented racial/ethnic group (African American, Native American, Pacific Islander, Alaska Native, or Hispanic).
2. Complete and sign the applicant information form below.Â
3. Complete the income document, including parental signature if dependent. Â
4. Complete your personal statement.
5. Submit an unofficial transcript to mcnair@css.edu.
6. Complete an interview with McNair staff (McNair will schedule). Â
Deadline Extended: There are still spots available for new applicants. Please complete this application as soon as possible as the review process is currently underway.Â
All applicants that earn admission into the TRIO McNair Scholars program will enroll in a 2-credit Research Foundations course taught at CSS this spring 2023 (NSC 3777, Thursdays, 2:00-3:50 pm). CSS has committed to waiving tuition and fees associated with this course for all McNair Scholars, including those from UMD, LSC, and FDLTCC.Â
